What data formats does mDOS export?

mDOS exports CSV, GeoJSON, KML, and raw spectral files. Data is compatible with QGIS, ArcGIS, Excel, and Python for post-processing and map production.

mDOS exports survey data in standard formats that can be read by common GIS and data processing tools. Typical export options include:

  • CSV / TXT – Tabular data with columns for timestamp, GPS coordinates, K/U/Th concentrations, dose rate, and spectral channel data. Compatible with Excel, QGIS, ArcGIS, and Python.
  • GeoJSON – Geospatially tagged data ready for import into web GIS applications.
  • KML / KMZ – For visualisation in Google Earth or similar tools.
  • Raw spectral files – Full spectrum data per time step, for advanced spectral reprocessing.

Processed output maps (raster grids, interpolated surfaces) are typically generated in post-processing software such as QGIS, Surfer, or dedicated processing scripts. Medusa provides documentation and example workflows for common post-processing scenarios.
