Medusa sensors are designed to be platform-agnostic. Because they only require an external power supply to operate, they can be mounted on virtually any survey platform. Commonly used platforms include:
- Vehicle-mounted – The most common setup for large-area soil surveys.
- Drone-borne (UAV) – Increasingly popular for difficult-to-access areas. The MS-350 is most suitable here.
- Backpack – Used for surveys in forests, rugged terrain, or smaller fields.
- Handheld – For spot measurements, validation, or detailed investigation of specific locations.
- Stationary – The gSMS-100 is designed for continuous fixed-point monitoring.
- Airborne / helicopter – The MS-1000 is used in larger airborne surveys for regional mapping.
The sensor communicates wirelessly with a tablet, phone, or laptop regardless of platform, enabling real-time monitoring from the cab of a vehicle or from a ground station.
